the best pocket cameras are the Kodak Playtouch Zi10 and Playsport Zx5. the first has more options, the second is more rugged.

If you are looking for a camcorder/camera that you can keep in your purse/pocket, this is it! We own two other camera’s, but they are both bulky and and heavy. This one is so light, you will not even notice its weight in your purse/pocket. I have used it so many times and was so thankful that I had a camera with me. Now, if you are looking for VERY high quality pictures….this camera isn’t it. But if you want a good quality picture, carry it with you camcorder/camera…Coby CAM4000BLK 2.4-Inch TFT LCD SNAPP Swivel Camcorder is it. I am very pleased with it and with the price!

Assuming the stage has some lighting for the band, the camcorder would not necessarily be capturing video under poorly lit conditions – unless you want crowd shots. If there is no stage lighting, then expect any camcorder (or camera that happens to record video as a convenience feature) with a small lens and imaging chip to record grainy video.

If the concert includes loud music, that will typically over-drive the camcorder (or camera) built-in auto mic gain circuit. The recorded video will be muddy – and if the audio is really loud, static ("peaking") will also be recorded. This audio cannot be fixed in a computer after recording. You need to use a video/audio capture device that can control the audio levels being recorded.

For $150 to $250 range (which is where the Zi8 and Flip HDs are), at least investigate the Samson Q3 (or Q3HD if it is even available)… The Q3 is standard definition video only – but has good audio control the Zi8 and Flips can’t touch.

The JVC Everio series are the very best & are not too expensive, one of these is vey easy to use and will do everything you are looking for so get your letter off to Santa as quickly as you can. good luck with your movie making & I hope to see some of your videos on Youtube.

if you parents got a lot of money, tell them to get you a HD camcorder.
Otherwise , stick with a good brand, say Canon, nikon, or sony.

JVC has one for $350. It is a 20 GIG. Able to hook up to Apples and PC’s Check Best Buy.

I cannot find any bad reviews of the camera,

Digilife say that if you try the camera you will order one!!!!

give it a go, try one out, if its not that good then return it, and get a better one. be careful of low light conditions, and noisy environments, thats normally where the cheaper cameras fall.
