Kodak PlaySport Zx3 Waterproof Pocket Camcorder

The Kodak Playsport Zx3 is the exact same pocket camcorder as the Zi8, minus the external mic jack and macro mode. What you get in extra to the Zi8 is the waterproof feature (up to 10 feet). It is also more rugged than the average pocket camcorder, but it certainly isn’t indestructible. Similar to the Zi8, it records up to 1080p resolution.

What’s Good About It
The Kodak Playsport has all the good things of the Zi8 except for the external microphone jack and Macro focus mode. The video quality is similarly good with strong low light performance, and it features the Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) which helps to reduce small hand jitters when shooting video, just like the Zi8. In addition, the Playsport is waterproof up to 10 feet making it a great choice for those who like to capture a day at the beach, in the pool or out among the elements. Also, just like the Zi8, Kodak Playsport is very competitively priced at just $149 MSRP.

What’s Bad
It does not come with an external memory card which require you to purchase separately, and switching between regular and underwater mode isn’t that straight forward.
